Same newsletter. Different platform! Here's how you can take advantage of everything we offer for authors, aspiring authors, readers, and aspiring readers.
B! I relate to the meme that is 'staying up too late to reclaim your time' which means no time to read because my husband goes to bed so I can't read in it! I've let too many books at the library go because too many came in at the same time, or it took me 6 weeks to read a book I should have finished in three and now I feel guilty that it's overdue.
Started fresh with (hopefully) one book at a time, at least until my hold list gets out of control again!
Welcome to Substack! Loved your question about what kind of a reader are we. I'm an F, first, because I love books so much, underline, write reviews, etc. but also E, because books are best when discussed and shared! However, I always finish the books I read for book club... unless they're truly horrible (and, in a good book club, very few choices will be horrible).
Love that you've moved to Substack! To answer your question, I would say I'm a mix of E&F — "read for connection to community" and "literature fiend." I'm a bit of a nerd in that I love reading like a writer. I highlight excerpts that I like and can learn from, keep a notebook where I write down book quotes that I like, use well-written passages as teaching tools, etc. For years I've almost exclusively read nonfiction, but I recently joined a book club that reads a lot of fiction, so it's been nice to dip my toes into the fiction world again!
I love everything you do for writers, authors, readers, and books! Thanks for being such a source of inspiration for so many. As an aspiring author in my very infant stage of this journey, listening to your podcast gives me so much motivation to keep going.
I'm A&B, but I'm reading all the time for work! (I'm an audiobook narrator.) So I listen to audiobooks in my car instead of the radio. Makes car trips fun, even to the grocery store. As for a name... "WordWorshippers" sounds great! Or what about, "WiseOnes," "ScribeSupporters," "Author Admiration Society," (lol) "Scribble Gallery," ("Zibby's Scribbys?") "Literary Listeners," "Literary Gardeners," "Editorial Encouragers," (I know it doesn't have to be alliterative...) "Author Appreciation Collective," this is fun, lol! Welcome to Substack!
I changed over my platforms to substack this past year. After 20+ years of other platforms I have to see this is the place to be. love it Zibby. You rock xo

I'm E&F too! (More F than E, since I always finish the book ;) I read much more fiction than non-fiction, though.
