I’m writing this from the Dublin airport. Has anyone else noticed how polite everyone is at the airports in Europe?! I find myself longing for the good old surliness of Americans.
I planned our annual family vacation this summer around the Taylor Swift concert at Wembley Stadium in London. Oh yes, I am that cool a mom. (Shirt purchased at Newark Airport months ago.)
I’ve been posting about the trip if you want to watch the footage. I’ve saved you all the travel and shown you all the sites!
Day 1: London (plus Taylor exhibit at the Victoria and Albert Museum)
Day 2: Oxford University (plus original Jane Eyre letter!)
Day 3: Taylor Swift at Wembley!
Day 4: (Losing it in) The West of Ireland
Day 5: Dublin (plus bookstore visit!)
You’re welcome.
As soon as we land today, we fly to Nantucket where I’ll be (somehow) doing an on-stage event TONIGHT at the Nantucket Atheneum from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm with Elin Hilderbrand and then a signing tomorrow, Wednesday, at Mitchell’s Book Corner from 11 am - 12 pm. If anyone’s in the area, please come by to both FREE events and say hello. I may or may not be sleepwalking.
Then join me tomorrow night, online, for Zibby’s Book Club with Alison Espach, The Wedding People. This is also the Barnes & Noble AND Read with Jenna August pick. I’m in very good company. Come with questions to ask Alison! (If you aren’t part of my book club, click here to join or you’re missing out.)
And then I’ll be heading to L.A. (I know, I’m tired just thinking about this, too) where I’ll be moderating the Zibby’s Bookshop event with T.J. Newman, author of Worst Case Scenario. She’s a former flight attendant turned New York Times bestselling author of Falling and Drowning. I’ll ask the flight attendants on my flight from Dublin now if they have any good ideas.
Speaking of book acquisitions (kind of), we have some exciting new additions to our list! I can barely keep track myself. Some of our latest new Zibby Books authors include Jane Costello, Alexandra Potter (look for the announcement on social today or tomorrow!), Jane Hamilton, and Annabelle Gurwitch. How lucky are WE?!
Our August release, The Goodbye Process: Stories by Mary Jones hit the USA Today bestseller list!
Meanwhile, we’ll be releasing two FABULOUS novels in September and October: Exposure by Ava Dellaira (September 10) and The Undercurrent (October 8) by Sarah Sawyer. They are SO GOOD!!! Biased, but it’s true!
Finally, our new anthology, On Being Jewish Now edited by… me(!!), comes out October 1st in e-book and audiobook and on November 1st in trade paperback.
Want to meet the authors on our e-book pub day for a special VIP Petite Retreat event with 40 (of the 75) contributors?!?! Lunch, panels, cocktail party. All in midtown Manhattan. Grab a ticket today!
Okay, we’re boarding and everyone is FREAKING OUT. Gotta run! No time to proof for typos. Forgive me!!
Xxoo,
Zibby
