Love this Zibby. You are such a terrific storyteller. And a brave mother. Keep on setting examples for us mere mortals who sit on the sidelines and watch as we get older.
Fab essay Zimbabwean y! You were way braver than I could ever be. And everyone, including you, had a great day That will never be forgotten. You go girl❣️
Haha! I laughed through your attempt to slide. It reminds me of the time my daughter begged me to do an obstacle race at a local farm and I slammed into these huge plastic tubes and thought I broke three ribs or the time I took out three moms during a roller skating race. So traumatic, but they make for funny stories. Thank you for sharing.
Oh how I love this and can so relate as I am far more dare devil than I imagined thanks to twin boys who challenge me to lake dives, ski trails and more! I swear it keeps me young.
I so much enjoyed reading this. My favorite part was when you described your ex amd his new fiancé on the dock looking gorgeous in sharp contrast to what you were looking like in those moments - omg I have so been there, too funny. Loved the theme of facing fears, and how much better we feel afterwards, even if we just do it a little at a time!
Oh, Zibby! This essay epitomizes how to conquer the ever-present fears we face everyday. My own kids (along with my students learning and emotional challenges) taught me more about how to jump in the ever-present lake than I was brave enough to manage myself. Your experience is beyond a jump in cold water. It beautifully represents the courage we forget we have for the quantum leap. Thanks for this wonderful reminder!
I was holding my breath and shaking while reading this re-cap. You are FAR braver than me!!
Hahaha!
Love this. It brought me back to the days so long ago when I went to sleep away camp and had to face many fears. So beautifully written.
Thanks, Carol!
