Zibby Schwarzman Owens is a freelance writer. Her first essay was published in Seventeen in 1993. Her work has since appeared in Redbook, Marie Claire, Avenue, Shape, Self, Modern Bride, Elegant Bride and Quest, where she was a Contributing Editor. She was a "Momtributor" to the Observer Playground, the New York Observer's magazine for moms, while serving as the Senior Editorial Chick at a daily deal start-up for moms, GaggleofChicks.com.
Zibby graduated cum laude from Yale University in 1998 with a B.A. in Psychology. At Yale, she was co-Editor-in-Chief of The Insider's Guide to the Colleges 1999, an entirely student-written college guidebook published by St. Martin's Press. She wrote for the Yale Herald.
After several years in marketing at Unilever and idealab!, Zibby attended Harvard Business School from which she received her MBA in 2003.
Zibby wrote a novel in 2004, Off Balance, a coming-of-age story about a young woman who loses her best friend on 9/11. She also co-authored a non-fiction, fashion/fitness book, Your Perfect Fit, published by McGraw-Hill in January 2008.
Zibby serves on the board of trustees of the Mount Sinai Health System, the Mount Sinai Parenting Center, the Child Mind Institute and the Library Council of the New York Public Library.She has four children and is married to Kyle Owens, a TV producer.
